The Kitsap County Historical Society is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Kitsap Heritage Family recognitions.

One family from each of five districts – north, south, central Kitsap, Bremerton and Bainbridge Island – will be selected and honored for their family’s longevity and commitment to Kitsap County. They will be honored at a banquet Sept. 20 at Kiana Lodge at Agate Passage.

Criteria for nominees are: the family has resided in Kitsap County for 100 years or more, has made a significant contribution to their community, and members of the family still reside in Kitsap. Nominations must be submitted by June 1.
