The Klahowya Secondary School (KSS) band program and the art department will team up for an event that includes two good causes.

The event, a concert that includes a spaghetti feed and both live and silent auctions, is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 10 at KSS, 7607 NW Newberry Hill Road in Silverdale. The cost for the event is $5 per individual or $15 per family.

The two causes are the band’s fundraiser to go to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego this year and the art department’s annual “Bowls for Babies” to raise money for March of Dimes.

The KSS Marching Band has been selected to perform at halftime at the Holiday Bowl in San Diego in December. There are numerous expenses and the event is one of the primary fundraisers.

Items to be auctioned off include a rafting trip, Bremerton Symphony tickets, house and carpet cleaning service, items or certificates from Mary Kay, Jazz Alley and Pzazz Salon, three months free instrument rental, custom-built clocks and many more items donated by merchants and others.

Also on display will be the 2009 Harley Roadster motorcycle, a brand-new Harley in which the band is selling raffle tickets for $10. There are only 2,500 tickets available for the brand new Harley. The drawing is slated for June 4, which means someone is going to win a Harley for $10.

The “Bowls for Babies” program features hand-crafted ceramic bowls created by the art department. Each individual and family who buys a ticket will receive one of these bowls and a portion of that ticket will go directly to the March of Dimes.

Additionally, the art department will have many items in the auction, alongside the band items. The money received for each of the art items will go toward March of Dimes.
