Klahowya graduates adapt to new times

Klahowya High School graduated 132 kids in the class of 2023 June 16.

Its 25th graduating class has experienced several changes over the years. “Looking back to the Stone Ages of 2016, Klahowya looked quite different,” salutatorian Shane Porter said. “The new wing hadn’t been designed and portables flanked both sides of the school. Thank goodness for the sports facility improvements or we would be sitting on the old muddy field.”

Besides adapting to a new look at Klahowya, the senior class provided some pride for the Eagle community. “We got first in the state in girls soccer, baseball and math with many more clubs and sports placing at state,” valedictorian Annabel Day said. “This is the time to look back at your former self and thank goodness I’m not you anymore.”

Klahowya’s graduates enjoyed their final high school moment tossing their caps in the air and celebrating a huge milestone. “Remember all the connections we made and try to improve as people,” Day said.
