KINGSTON — Letha Louise Majors Forbes died April 5. She was 83.

Born in San Francisco, Calif., to Laurel (Meukow) and Fredrick Majors on March 10, 1930. The family returned to Bremerton when she was a child and she attended Bremerton schools.

Met and married Jim Forbes in 1950; they raised five children on their farm in Kingston: Donna Longwell Sully (Brian), Catherine Bitz, Michael (Ann), James (Cyndi), and Walter (Valerie). Avid pinochle player, loved to dance, PTA president, active in Grange and her church.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepfather Oscar Hays, brothers Howard and Kenneth Majors, sister Dorothy Roche. Survived by five children and their spouses, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, 12 nieces and nephews and their children.

Funeral was April 12, 10 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Kingston, burial followed at Eglon Cemetery. Online memorial: www.poulsbomortuary.com.
