Man decides to steal instead of going to therapy
A Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a theft at JC Penney’s after a Bremerton man became unruly after being caught stealing. The 30-year-old was caught stealing a $40 watch, and he was confronted by loss prevention just outside the door. The man grabbed and pushed at the chest of the security officer, who in turn pinned the man down to handcuff him. The thief told the officer, “just kill me and other similar statements,” according to the KCSO report. When a deputy arrived, the man admitted to stealing and assaulting the security officer, and apologized to the officer. The man said he ran out of anti-depressants and “that he should have gone to see his counselor instead of shoplifting.” Upon searching the man, the deputy located a glass pipe with a small amount of white substance in it, which was not enough for testing. The man told the deputy he had been smoking incense when asked what was in the tube. The Bremerton man was booked for assault three with a $5,000 bail and for theft three with a $1,000 bail. He was also placed under suicide watch at the jail, states the report.
Homeless man found living in vacant home is arrested
A homeless Bremerton man was arrested March 5 after being found living inside a vacant home. Upon arrival, Bremerton Police detectives found the suspect to be “mumbling words, twitching and sweating, appearing to be on narcotics,” states a police report. For the safety of detectives, he was placed into handcuffs for the questioning procedure. When asked what drugs he was on, the man told authorities “coke” and that he was aware he committed a crime by breaking and entering the house. The man told detectives he had been living there for about a week. The 33-year-old said he noticed the house was vacant, and he broke the door and tossed a brick through the window. He told detectives “it was an accident” and when the detective told him he thought it was more on purpose, the man agreed by saying, “it was.” He was placed under arrest, and while in custody detectives discovered a glass pipe that tested positive for meth. He was booked into KCSO jail and his bail was set at $22,500.
Son steals TV from parents
On March 6, a caller notified authorities about a residential burglary on NW David Road. The caller said a male was at the back door with what looked to be a screwdriver, trying to get inside while the occupants were not home. The suspect got into a gray Lincoln town car with two other passengers. An on-duty Bremerton police officer saw the car and stopped the vehicle to detain the occupants. The suspect had asked for a ride to “a friend’s house to pick up a television,” states a certificate of probable cause. His friends waited in the car while he paced around the house and finally emerged with a large television. The home owner confirmed on scene that her son was the one who broke into the home and was not welcome inside the home. The son admitted to taking the TV, but planned to “give it back.” His bail was set at $50,000.
