Liquor Control Board hosts I-502 forum March 7

The state Liquor Control Board will host a public forum on Initiative 502 on March 7, 6-10 p.m., at the Kitsap Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave, Bremerton.

BREMERTON — The state Liquor Control Board will host a public forum on Initiative 502 on March 7, 6-10 p.m., at the Kitsap Convention Center, 100 Washington Ave, Bremerton.

Additional forums are scheduled in Mount Vernon, Vancouver, Spokane and Yakima.

“Clearly there is passion about what Washington’s system of legal marijuana will look like when fully implemented,” board Chairwoman Sharon Foster said.

“This is an opportunity for the public to meet the board and staff involved in implementation, learn about our role in implementation, and to provide early input as we develop the rules.”

The event begins with a one-hour open house with board and staff members, followed by an overview of the board’s role in implementation and timeline. Public testimony will be taken from 7:20-10 p.m.

More information regarding the implementation of I-502 — including a fact sheet and tentative timeline — is available on www.liq.wa.gov.
