Carl and Helene Jensen, of Port Orchard, announced the engagement of their daughter, Rachelle, to Cory Payne, son of Mike and Wendy Payne, of Olalla.

The wedding is set for Aug. 22 at Cedar Springs.

The bride is a 2008 graduate from South Kitsap High School and a 2013 graduate from Brigham Young University-Idaho, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. The 2010 Miss Kitsap County is working and attending school to earn her certification to be a veterinarian technician.

The groom graduated from SKHS in 2008 and from Eastern Washington University in 2013. He is working at a pro sports club as a personnel trainer in Redmond.

The couple plans a honeymooning in the Caribbean and will reside in Redmond with their dog Zoey and cat Theodore.
