KINGSTON — Kitsap County officials continue to urge North End residents to use alternate routes whenever possible to avoid construction work along Miller Bay Road.

Three separate improvement projects are slowing traffic in the area, including traffic lights being installed at Miller Bay and West Kingston roads, Miller Bay and Indianola roads and Miller Bay and Gunderson roads. County crews are also replacing the culvert over Grover’s Creek with a more environmentally friendly bridge. Puget Sound Energy is doing work along the corridor in preparation for a Kingston Substation being constructed near Albertsons that will link to the substation on Gunderson Road.

County officials remind motorists wait times can reach 20 minutes, longer during commuting hours in the morning and evening. Construction work on the projects typically begins at 7 a.m. and continues until 6 p.m. Officials urge all motorists to find alternate routes if possible.
