Octoberfest Oct. 1Celebrate the fall season at Greater Hansville Community Center’s Octoberfest, Oct. 1 from 6:30-9 p.m. You can sample three different brews from Silver City Brewing Company at the Beirgarten, enjoy German-inspired foods, and dance to an oom-pah band.Tickets at $15 per person at Hansville Grocery and Hansville Cup of Joy. Fall book sale Oct. 22Curl up with a great stack of books this winter for a small cost.The Greater Hansville Community Center’s annual Giant Fall Book Sale is scheduled for Oct. 21, 6-8 p.m., and Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Friday prices are $2 for hardbound books, $1 for large paperbacks and 50 cents for pocket books. Saturday, all books are half priced. The books are arranged in fiction, non-fiction, and other categories. CDs, games, records and videos are also for sale. Wine Social Nov. 5Greater Hansville Community Center’s Wine Social is Nov. 5, 7-9 p.m.This community center fundraiser pairs wine tasting with a silent auction. The wines are carefully selected by a community committee of wine lovers. Some of the more popular auction items have been the gift of services provided by members of the community.
