A 27-year-old man jumped from the Warren Avenue Bridge Tuesday afternoon.
He was riding in a vehicle across the Warren Avenue Bridge shortly before 1:30 p.m. when he opened the door and jumped out, leapt over the guardrail and into the Port Washington Narrows, Bremerton Police Sgt. Wendy Davis said.
The current carried the man toward the Manette Bridge. Police officers and Olympic Ambulance EMTs met the man at Evergreen Park, according to Davis.
The man was conscious, breathing and talking. He was transported to Harrison Medical Center, but didn’t appear to have sustained any serious injuries.
The man, a government contractor with Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, was admitted to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue Monday night for mental health issues and was released Tuesday morning, Davis said.
