Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue firefighters rescued a man who fell down a 100-foot ravine early Sunday morning.

The man, in his early 20s, fell down a ravine off Anderson Hill Road, between Silverdale and Seabeck, around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night, according to CKFR.

Firefighters were hampered in the rescue effort by the 70 percent grade and steep terrain. Using high-angle rescue techniques and skills, crews successfully lifted the man out of the ravine around 12:45 a.m. with a rope and pulley system.

The man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in serious condition.
