A 20-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds at his Bremerton residence and was transported to a hospital in critical condition following a home invasion the early morning of Aug. 2, per the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Several other people were also inside the house but were not injured.

Sheriff’s deputies and Bremerton Police responded to the incident in the 5900 block of Caymans NE in East Bremerton just after midnight, a KCSO Facebook post states. Authorities learned that an unknown number of suspects broke into the residence resulting in multiple shots fired. Those suspects left the scene and are being sought by law enforcement.

Detectives are awaiting a search warrant for the residence and remains an active crime scene. People living nearby are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
