Traffic briefly stopped on Kitsap Way when a man tackled his friend on bicycle and they began to fight in the middle of the road July 3.

Police were called at about 7:31 p.m. to an assault in progress in the 6800 block of Kitsap Way. A 48-year-old Bremerton man riding his bicycle was tackled by another man that was a friend to him. The 48-year-old said his friend was supposed to give him a ride to Silverdale and prior to the physical fight, the two had an argument over this. They were at another friend’s house off of Harlow Drive and before the 48-year-old left on his bike, he took a tow strap and light from his friend’s truck.

The friend later found the 48-year-old riding on Kitsap Way and pulled in front of him with the truck. He stopped the truck and tackled the 48-year-old off his bike and the two began rolling across the road fighting. The 48-year-old had a scrape on his forehead and on his left arm but did not want medical aid nor did he want to press charges against his friend. No arrests were made and the report was filed for information only.
