A 52-year-old Bremerton man threatened a female clerk in a Bremerton 7-Eleven store July 23, in an incident that left him banned from the location and summoned for a court appearance.
The man entered the store on Sixth Street and walked around, according to police reports. He came up to the counter as if he was going to purchase something but did not have any items with him. The 29-year-old female clerk told the man that if he was not going to purchase anything, that he would have to leave.
The man began pounding his chest with closed fists and yelled obscenities at the clerk. When she told him she was going to call the police, he said. “I’ll get you. I’ll catch you when you are walking.” This made the woman scared because she frequently walks to work.
A police officer located the man up the street from the store at 6:43 p.m. and told the man he was trespassed from the store and could be arrested if he returned there. The officer also told him that he would receive a summons to appear in court. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor for the charging of one count of fourth-degree assault.
