A historic plaque from the Manette Bridge is missing with no leads on its whereabouts.

A Bremerton Public Works and Utilities employee reported the absent plaque July 22 to the Bremerton police, saying he noticed it was missing a few days before, according to police reports. Representatives from the state Department of Transportation, managing the construction of the Manette Bridge replacement, said they did not remove the plaque.

Engraved with the date June 21, 1930, the city planned to use the brass plaque as memorabilia for the new bridge. It is worth $50 in scrap metal and Bremerton Public Works asked Navy City Metals to keep an eye out for the plaque.

Bremerton police have no leads on a suspect.
