POULSBO — Mary Faye Stimac died July 14, 11 days before her 69th birthday.

She was born July 25, 1944 to Violet and Woodrow Christensen of Poulsbo.

She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1962 and moved to San Diego to begin her career as an explosives safety officer with the U.S. Navy. She retired on Dec. 31, 1999.

She married Joseph L. Stimac of San Diego on Sept. 22, 1973 in Poulsbo.  She loved to cook gourmet meals and entertain.

She is survived by husband, Joe; brother, Dale (Colette) of Edmonds; aunt, Evelyn Ryen of Poulsbo; stepdaughter and stepson, Kim Boxer and John Stimac of Oregon; nephew, David (Michelle) of Edmonds; and niece, Connie (Rick) Zapp of Silverdale.

At her request, there will be no funeral. Memorials will be held in San Diego and Poulsbo at a later date.
