KINGSTON — The Rachel Royston Permanent Scholarship Foundation Board of Trustees awarded Trang McGillivray, a fifth-grade teacher at Wolfle Elementary School, a $2,500 scholarship and Laurie James, a special education teacher at Kingston High School, $1,500 scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.
McGillivray is working on her National Board Certification. James is studying for a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction at Seattle Pacific University.
Each year, the foundation grants scholarships toward advanced degrees or specialized study to outstanding women educators in Washington. The nonprofit Royston Foundation is affiliated with Washington chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an organization of key women educators across the United States and in 17 countries.
