KINGSTON — Jordan Nicole Wall was crowned 2011 Miss Kingston at the annual scholarship pageant July 30 at Kingston Middle School.

Brooke Ann Haag and Lauren Large’ were crowned princesses.

As Miss Kingston, Jordan receives a $1,000 scholarship. Brooke and Lauren each receive a $500 scholarship. To be eligible to participate, contestants attend local schools or home schools, have a 2.5 or better grade point average, and reside with a parent or legal guardian in the North Kitsap School District. Contestants were judged on interviews, an oral presentation, prepared and impromptu questions, and a talent and evening gown competition.

Wall is 19 and a 2011 graduate of Kingston High School. She is the daughter of Michael and Brenda Wall. Through Running Start, she nearly completed her AA degree while attending high school.

She will attend Whatcom Community College as a sophomore in the fall. Her extracurricular activities include singing, dancing, basketball and kickboxing. She plans to manage her family daycare business when her grandparents retire.

Her pageant sponsors were Thomas Heckly, Forsyth Enterprises, LTD Land Development, Kingston Crossing Wellness Clinic, SRV Construction, Susie’s Daycare, Prepaid Legal, R. Scott Puhn DDS, DEF Productions, and Edward Jones financial advisers Bim Prince and Clint Boxman.

Haag, 16, is the daughter of Randy Haag and Rhonda Bailey. She resides with her guardians, Michael and Joy Erickson. She will be a junior at Kingston High School in the fall. Her favorite subjects are English and math. Her extracurricular activities include volleyball, softball, singing and babysitting.

She plans to attend a college specializing in marketing and fashion design and pursue a career as a magazine editor or buyer.

Haag’s pageant sponsors were Michael and Joy Erickson, William and Janice Schoen, Lee and Pam Metcalfe, Family of Brooke Haag, Arthur and Raquel Nelson, White Horse Golf Community Homeowners Association, and Apple Tree Cove Dental Center.

Large’, 16, is the daughter of Ernie and Kim Large’. She will be a junior at North Kitsap High School in the fall. Her favorite subjects are English and Spanish. Her extracurricular activities included cheerleading, snow skiing, swimming and biking.

Large’ plans to participate in Running Start her junior and senior years and complete her associate of arts degree. She would also like to attend the cosmetology school at the West Sound Technical Skills Center at Olympic College, continuing on to complete a bachelor’s degree at University of Washington or Washington State University. After graduating from college, she would like to open her own retail hair salon.
