Meet Rep. Kilmer at Kingston ‘Yack and Snack’

Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Bremerton, will attend the Kingston Citizens Advisory Committee’s “Yack and Snack” Open House Feb. 20, 7-9 p.m., at Kingston Middle School, 9000 NE West Kingston Road.

KINGSTON — Rep. Derek Kilmer, D-Bremerton, will attend the Kingston Citizens Advisory Committee’s “Yack and Snack” Open House Feb. 20, 7-9 p.m., at Kingston Middle School, 9000 NE West Kingston Road.

The event is free and open to the public.

Local agencies, organizations and county staff members will provide information about various topics of local interest, including free Wi-Fi in downtown Kingston, new sidewalks on Highway 104, commercial and retail vacancies in  the business district, and a new website highlighting tourism-related businesses and events.

County Commissioner Rob Gelder and Larry Keeton, director of the county’s Department of Community Development, will participate.

Local businesses will provide food during the event, among them J’aime les Crepes, Mi Sueno Catering and Taqueria, The Tea Room at Port Gamble/Bistro By Night, Flying Pickle, CB’s Nuts, Kingston IGA and Albertsons.

Event chairwoman Nancy Langwith said the event is “about the volunteers who give their time, talent and energy so freely and our county leadership who are helping to make Kingston a better community. Come have a chat and a snack and meet your community.”
