Members needed for new mental health advisory committee

The 11-member committee will research local data related to mental health service needs, existing capacities and gaps in service.

The Kitsap County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for those interested in serving on a newly forming Mental Health Advisory Committee that will advise and make recommendations to the board regarding mental health, chemical dependence and therapeutic court service needs that may be funded by a proposed sales tax.

The 11-member committee will research local data related to mental health service needs, existing capacities and gaps in service.

Membership will include five at-large representatives and one each from the education and law and justice fields, and from the Peninsula Regional Support Network Advisory Board, Substance Abuse Advisory Board, Commission on Children and Youth and the Area Agency on Aging.
