A 30-year-old man threatened a motorist who sped through his Bremerton neighborhood July 22.
The driver, a 28-year-old Gig Harbor man, reported the incident to police at about 12:59 p.m. He said he was driving on Rainier Avenue and 15th Street when he was confronted by the 30-year-old man.
The 28-year-old said he apologized to the man after the man said he was driving too fast on the street where his kids live and play. He thought the issue was resolved but later he received a phone call from the 30-year-old where he threatened to kill him and his family. The 30-year-old got the other man’s phone number through mutual friends, police said.
When police contacted the 30-year-old, the man said he saw someone he knew riding with the 28-year-old and he waived. When the tires squealed as the vehicle came to a stop, he told the 28-year-old to slow down. The 30-year-old said the 28-year-old called him on the phone and that is when he told him that if he hit his kids, he would “be hurt.” The report was for information and no arrests were made.
