Michael Robert E. Falotico was born in Portland, Ore. to Nicholas and Allie (Peggy) Falotico.

POULSBO — Michael Robert E. Falotico was born in Portland, Ore. to Nicholas and Allie (Peggy) Falotico.

Graduating from Franklin High School and attending Portland State College, he soon left to pursue a career in dance in New York City.

Michael danced with the Joffrey Ballet Company, Manhattan Festival Ballet and many musicals. Subsequently he was associate director of Manhattan Festival Ballet. He directed Ballet Western Reserve in Youngstown, Ohio; City Ballet, Portland; and Dance Ensemble Northwest, Poulsbo.

Michael was a much beloved teacher, encouraging and inspiring his students to go on to professional careers. He was also a prolific choreographer, staging and choreographing many ballets. He directed and choreographed the North Kitsap annual “Nutcracker” production for 18 years.

Dance and family were the loves of Michael’s life. He leaves his wife of 46 years, Georgann S.; his daughter, Lisanne Brazier (Donald); his sons Michael A. (Cathy), Mauro A. (Kate) and Nicholas G. (Jodie); and 77/8’s beloved grandchildren. Also left behind are his sister, Suzanne Rother (William); and brother, Rocco (Jean).

He is predeceased by his parents and a brother, Joseph (Jaci).

He will be missed so much by his family, students and friends, as well as by his children’s many friends, who found in his home a welcoming adviser and second home.
