A Mountain View Middle School student was assaulted by other students on the school bus Oct. 20.

The incident was reported to police at about 4:02 p.m. and the student’s 43-year-old mother said her son was assaulted by three other boys who claimed to be Blood gang members after school on the bus, according to police reports.

The woman said she spoke to the principal and that her son was repeatedly hit and had some bruises and abrasions.

The officer was able to look at video surveillance from the Bremerton School District’s transportation supervisor. The assault was “obvious” from the video but because of the camera angle and he high seat backs, the student is not visible.

In the video, one student sat behind the boy and reached over to strike him while a second student sat beside him and appeared to be punching him, according to the report. The students would wait until the bus stopped and other students left to start punching the boy.

The boy told the officer that prior to the incident, the boys asked him about his gang affiliation and he said he didn’t know anything and isn’t involved in any. They told him to be a “Juggalo” and that they were “Bloods” and “hated Juggalos.”

The mother wanted to prosecute the boys for assault. The report was pending names of two of the suspects that were not identified.
