Ashby earns leadership
position at The Citadel
Poulsbo native Marcus Ashby, a rising senior at The Citadel, will serve as a cadet company commander next year. Ashby will be the T Company commander in the fourth battalion.
He assumed his duties in the chain of command on May 2. He is one of 16 company commanders at The Citadel, a military college in Charleston, S.C.
Bronson returns from deployment
Army National Guard Pfc. Patricia A. Bronson has returned to the 28th Military Police Company, in Johnstown, Pa. after being deployed to an overseas forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Operation Iraqi Freedom is the official name given to military operations involving members of the U.S. armed forces and coalition forces participating in efforts to free and secure Iraq. Mission objectives focus on force protection, peacekeeping, stabilization, security and counter-insurgency operations as the Iraqi transitional governing bodies assume full sovereign powers to govern the peoples of Iraq.
Bronson is a chemical operations specialist with two years of military service. She is the daughter of Virginia A. Bronson of N.E. 2nd Ave., Poulsbo. The private is a 2006 graduate of North Kitsap High School.
Emma House is a step
closer to the sky
Emma House, a 2004 graduate of North Kitsap High School, recently graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., with a bachelor’s of science in aerospace studies. She will also receive a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. She will attend Air Force pilot training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas.
