Christina Krawiecki was crowned the 2009 Miss Kitsap Fair & Stampede April 11 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds President’s Hall.
The Port Orchard native is the daughter of Jurgen and Susan Krawiecki.
She was born at Naval Hospital Bremerton on Jan. 21, 1992. She lived in Gig Harbor at the time, and when she was 18 months old her family moved to a small island off the coast of Sardinia, Italy, called La Maddalena. Her dad was a naval officer. Krawiecki attended Italian preschool and while living there she was put on her first horse. After years of asking for a horse, her parents bought her an appaloosa when she was 12. She is starting her sixth year in 4-H and is currently president of her group.
Last year, Krawiecki was honored as first runner-up in the Miss Kitsap Fair & Stampede pageant and in 2006 was The Kitsap Saddle Club Queen. She and her horse “Blue” enjoy all areas of riding, including Western, English, jumping, gaming and eventing. Currently a junior at South Kitsap High School and a member of the National Honor Society, Krawiecki also enjoys track and field, German club and photography. Her other interests include skiing, hiking, traveling and enjoying time at the ocean. Once she finishes high school, she plans to attend college with a goal of graduating with a degree in equine management.
Miss Katie Kitsap 2009 also was crowned at the event. This year’s winner is Kaytlin Kolbas. She is the daughter of Josh and Michele Kolbas of Silverdale. Kaytlin is 5 years old. Her favorite book is “The Little Engine That Could.” She loves horses, cats and going on adventures.
