POULSBO — Karl “Jerry” Lamb and his magnetic monorail system have visited Bainbridge Island and Suquamish in an effort to garner support for a proposed link between Winslow and Olhava.

Now it’s Poulsbo’s turn, as Lamb will give another public presentation on his proposal at the Sons of Norway lodge at 5 p.m. on Thursday.

While the idea of creating and funding the system has raised eyebrows in Little Norway, it has gained the support of Councilman Jim Henry and Councilwoman Kathryn Quade as part of the city’s effort to address mounting transportation issues.

“We need to find ways to move people around whether by motorized or non-motorized means, because we’re not building many new roads,” Quade said.

As the city grows and continues to annex more land, the strain on the existing infrastructure increases and all options need to be examined to find solutions, she explained.

At Thursday’s presentation, Lamb is expected to display a working model of his LevX system, so people can actually see how the technology works.

“The last time he came he just answered questions, so this should be an interesting presentation,” Quade said.
