Motorcycle ride to benefit boxing club, food bank

The “Knock Out Hunger” Motorcycle Run is set for May 17 to help raise money for youth boxers at Cal’s Olympic Boxing Academy and South Kitsap Helpline.

The “Knock Out Hunger” Motorcycle Run is set for May 17 to help raise money for youth boxers at Cal’s Olympic Boxing Academy and South Kitsap Helpline.

Registration is $15 per ride and will be held from 9-11 a.m. at La Palapa Mexican Restaurant, 150 Harrison Ave., in Port Orchard. Breakfast will be available at registration.

SK Helpline Executive Director Jennifer Hardison said $5 from each registration will go to the food bank.

Stops during the ride include HD’s Pub in Belfair, Leonard K’s in Shelton, El Sombrerro in Lakebay, Hi-Tide and the Red Dog Saloon in Port Orchard. The event ends with a barbecue and live music, along with a 50/50 raffle and silent auction.
