A motorcyclist heading southbound on State Route 3 near Gorst was struck and killed Tuesday morning.

Fifty-five-year-old Danny T. Hampton was driving southbound on his blue 2001 Kawasaki when a gray 2004 Chevy Silverado pickup that was heading northbound entered the left turn lane onto Division Ave. The truck began the turn without yielding to traffic, police said, striking and killing the motorcyclist.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. There was no drugs or alcohol involved according to the Washington State Patrol.

The roadway was blocked for two hours and 26 minutes. The incident is under investigation, police said.
