POULSBO — A 25-year-old man told the Sheriff’s Department he was sprayed in the face with aerosol by an unknown man Tuesday while in his car on Hallman Road in Poulsbo.
The victim, a Poulsbo resident, was driving down Hallman Road heading toward Viking Road around 5 p.m. when a white Subaru station wagon, driving in the opposite direction, “swerved” in front of his car, according to the report by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office. The victim rolled down his window to see what the issue was when the Subaru’s driver got out of the car, approached the victim and pulled an aerosol can out of his hooded sweatshirt. The driver sprayed the victim in the face with an unknown substance, but did not say anything.
The driver then attempted to remove the keys from the victim’s car. A car approached the scene, and the Subaru driver returned to his car and drove away. The victim did not recognize his assailant.
Kitsap County Sheriff and Poulsbo Fire Department responded at 4:48 p.m. Deputy Sheriff Scott Wilson reported this did not seem like a random attack. The driver is described as a white male in his 20s, “fat,” short brown hair and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, and driving a 1990s white Subaru station wagon.
The victim refused medical treatment and left the scene in his car. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
