“Mug Up!” and Draw

Array

Mug Up! Did you know this is what a coffee break among cannery workers in Alaska is called? Well, this is according to transplanted Alaskan Dawn Henthorn, Kingston Art Gallery sculptor. The Gallery has its own Mug Up! monthly at Cleo’s Learning Center for the Arts for all artists for coffee and conversation. In March the date is Thursday, March 5, 10 a.m. until noon or so. All artists are welcome to this First Thursday event.

Our monthly Second Saturday Gallery Night, March 14, 5 – 8 p.m., is our All Artists Show. Come and meet our new member, collage artist Ellen Peterson and see her work. Enjoy refreshments, music and of course our fine art.

We welcome two new Gallery volunteers, Betsy Collins, Kingston, and Ann Jones, Hansville, who join our long time volunteer Sondra Fay. Yay for our volunteers!

This is the last month to take advantage of our winter special. Save the $175 joining fee with no six-month commitment. So, if you are an artist and are considering showing your work, contact Membership and Jury Committee Chair Marcia Randall DeBard at shabalastudio@centurytel.com or come in to the Gallery.

An opportunity to draw from a live model and/or a still life will be on Tuesday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Everyone who draws or would like to draw join us with paper and pencil or your favorite medium for a Drawing session at Cleo’s. Contact Julia Miller at juliad.mill@gmail.com for more information about Mug Up! or Drawing session.

The slugs are coming! Some of us are looking forward to this. Yep! Really!

The Kingston Art Gallery cooperative is open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday; and in case you have yet to be inspired, delighted and intrigued by the art inside, we are two blocks up from the ferry dock on Highway 104 in Cleo’s Learning Center for the Arts.
