PULLMAN — Megan Murnane was awarded the $1,000 Evelyn Lund Deck Scholarship from The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. Recipients of this award must be a junior, demonstrate financial need, have a solid grade-point average and be involved in the college.

Murnane graduated South Kitsap High School in 2013. She plans to graduate from WSU in May 2016 with a degree in journalism and media production.

Murnane is a television spot director for Cable 8 Productions, the lead camera operator for the WSU videoboard, and the President of the Association for Women in Communications at WSU.

She is the daughter of Linda and Michael Murnane of Olalla.
