We stopped at Arness Park shortly after we returned home. We wanted to look at the new bridge. We were away when the grand opening occurred.
This very detailed carving mounted in concrete was found on the bank at the entrance to the slough.
Who did the carving? When was it placed there? If you know, please explain the meaning of it and the multiple images in it.
This carving should be enjoyed by everyone — not just the seagulls who use the plaque and its concrete mounting to crack open their catches from the cove.
The Kingston Historical Society meets the fourth Wednesday of the month, 10 a.m., in the Indianola Room of the Kingston Community Center. Please join us.
