Five Central Kitsap School District teachers received recognition during the school board’s meeting on Thursday. All but one were in attendance for a reception and public recognition of their work. Catherine Nitchman, Janice Davison, Monday Galbreath, Crystal Crawford and Deborah Straub all received their certification.
“National Board Certification is an advanced teaching credential. As part of this process, teachers must analyze their teaching context and students’ needs, submit videos of their teaching, and provide student work samples that demonstrate growth and achievement,” according to the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards website.
