Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton’s Charleston Gate will become the main Entry Control Point (ECP), or primary gate, Jan. 18.
The Naval Avenue Gate hours will change to reflect Charleston’s new hours.
The Charleston Gate will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Naval Avenue Gate will be open from 5 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., seven days a week.
Pedestrian access to and from the Bremerton base after hours will still be possible using turnstiles at several perimeter access points, including Naval Avenue. NAVSEA badges will operate the turnstiles, according to a news release, but Common Access Cards (CAC) and Regional Badges will not.
Authorized family members and service members without NAVSEA badges who require after-hours pedestrian base access can obtain a “Naval Base Kitsap White Badge” at the Bremerton base’s pass and identification office. That badge will allow access via the pedestrian turnstiles.
