Navy Yard City stabbing victim says the identity of her assailant is ‘her business’

A 35-year-old woman who took a bus to Harrison Medical Center with a stab wound Sunday told deputies the identity of her assailant was her business, and nobody else’s.

A Kitsap County sheriff’s deputy was called to the hospital to contact the woman, who had a 3/4-inch stab wound to her left upper arm/shoulder, reports said.

She told the deputy she had been stabbed at her residence on the 4200 block of B Street in Navy Yard City after she told a man to leave.

She told the deputy she wouldn’t disclose the man’s name, and planned to leave the state to avoid the person.

When deputies checked the residence they found a man, 48, described as a “known Navy yard City criminal” with a warrant for domestic violence. There was a “strong odor of kerosene or bleach in the air,” the report said, indicating the man had been cleaning the residence.

When contacted later, the woman denied the 48-year-old had stabbed her and declined again to cooperate with the investigation.

“She wasn’t going to tell me who did stab her because it was her business and she doesn`t like cops,” a detective wrote.
