New blood and old leadership will mix in school district

No matter what happens Nov. 4, the North Kitsap School Board will be pumping in some new blood. As it does this — with the consent of the voters — the Herald hopes its readers will also opt to retain a member who has been a grand addition to the group.

Catherine Ahl deserves to be re-elected in Dist. 4. She’s proven herself to be a level-headed leader on the board and a diligent worker in every way during her time with the board and will continue to do so for years to come.

Ahl offers a knowledgeable and balanced view to the board that will definitely come in handy as the district adds two untested members to its mix.

We like Dan Delaney in Dist. 2 as well. Delaney seems to have an excellent grasp on the problems facing NKSD and should offer a solid and realistic perspective in finding workable solutions. His realization that it takes a village to raise a child will serve the North End well.

Frank Spargo’s experience and financial background gives him our nod in the Dist. 5 race. His knowledge of the business world should be an asset.

Spargo’s tight-belt ideas will certainly come in handy as the NKSD continues its trip into uncertain financial waters.
