HANSVILLE — With her new book “Necessary Words for Writers: What Do Those Agents and Editors Mean?” (Abbott Press), writer Donna Lee Anderson of Hansville presents writers with a look at the words and jargon they need to know in order to navigate the publishing world.
From “acquisition editor” to “zap fiction,” Anderson’s book is an A to Z reference guide that defines and describes common words and vocabulary used in the publishing industry. She writes in a conversational style, writer-to-writer. She hopes to demystify the terms, giving writers access to the language they need to communicate with professional editors, agents and publishers.
Anderson is the author of the fiction romance “IMJUSTCURIOUS — Internet Dating Adventures” (2005) and contributed to the anthology, “Dream Makers: Stories That Won’t Put You To Sleep” (2003).
Anderson leads workshops on memoir writing and beginning writing, and writes the Hansville Happenings column for the Kingston Community News. She also blogs at donnaleeanderson.com.
