Two real estate agents have started a club that will offer free activities for local children.
“What inspired us is that we both have kids, and we wanted to incorporate our job with families. We hope it becomes a safe and fun outlet for kids and families to enjoy,” said Emily Heffner and Raelynn Sizemore, co-founders of the John L. Scott Kids Club, which launched in late September at 1954 SE Lund Ave.
Heffner and Sizemore are committed to supporting families within the community. Rather than a physical space, the club serves as a community initiative aimed at fostering creativity and individuality among youth.
As part of its opening activities, the club is hosting a haunted house coloring contest during October. Children can participate in four categories: ages 4-7, 8-11, 12-15 and special needs (ages 4-15). Coloring pages are available at the office or can be downloaded from the club’s Facebook page. All entries must be submitted by 9 p.m. Oct. 30, with winners announced on Halloween night. Each winner will receive a $50 Visa gift card.
Heffner and Sizemore plan to host events throughout Port Orchard, featuring a variety of seasonal activities. Participation is free, aimed at ensuring inclusivity. Heffner and Sizemore hope to foster an environment where children can make friends and express themselves. As the club evolves, they expect to expand programming to reflect the interests and needs of local families.
