POULSBO — It was after much process and deliberation that the Board of Martha & Mary concluded the best place to look for a new CEO was under its own roof.
The board approved the appointment of Chad Solvie as the new CEO effective in September, according to a Tuesday afternoon press release.
Solvie has served as the administrator for the Martha & Mary Health & Rehab Center for seven years.
He received his bachelor’s degree in long-term care administration and psychology from Concordia College and his master’s degree in organization & management from Capella University. He has 12 years of experience working in the nonprofit health care administration field with the Good Samaritan Society and Martha & Mary.
“Chad is extremely knowledgeable in the area of services for the aging and will be well positioned to lead all of the organization’s business lines forward,” said Sue Gitch, President of the Martha & Mary organization.
Bill Brueggemann, who has served as interim CEO since the departure of Denney Austin earlier this year, will continue to assist the organization during the transition and the hiring of a new administrator for the Health & Rehab Center.
Solvie is a graduate of the Leadership Kitsap program, recipient of the Kitsap Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award, serves as the current chair of the Kitsap Long-term Care Alliance and is an active member at First Community Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. He and his wife Melanie have three children.
