Kitsap Transit has announced the schedule for a series of public meetings to discuss the possibility of raising bus fares.

The first took place April 29 in Kingston.

The next meeting will take place at 7 p.m. tonight on the second floor of the Harborside Building, 60 Washington Avenue, in Bremerton.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

• Bainbridge Island: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, May 1 at Bainbridge Fire Station No. 21, 8995 NE Madison Avenue.

• Bremerton: 3 p.m. Thursday, May 8 at the Harborside Building.

• Port Orchard: 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at the Givens Community Center, 1026 Sidney Avenue.

• Poulsbo: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 6 at the Port of Poulsbo Meeting Room on the Anderson Parkway Waterfront.

• Silverdale: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Monday, May 5 at the Billie Eder Community Center, 9729 Silverdale Way NW.

• Southworth: 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 at Harper Church, Sedgwick and Wilson Creek Road.

Nooners, Sunrisers to join hands,

get dirty

Silverdale Noon Rotary and the Silverdale Sunrise Club are planning a joint clean-up effort to take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 3 at Silverdale Waterfront Park.

The two clubs plan to pick up garbage and debris in the park and plant flowers and other plants.

The goal of the project is to clean the park and to build greater unity between the clubs, according to a news release.
