Washington State Patrol (WSP) District 8 communications officers and others are hosting a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, March 6 and tomorrow, March 7 to raise funds for the Mjor family.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) District 8 communications officers and others are hosting a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, March 6 and tomorrow, March 7 to raise funds for the Mjor family.

Ashley Mjor, 13, is battling Type B non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She is the daughter of WSP Detective James Mjor.

The rummage sale will be held in the parking area of the Bremerton Health and Racquet Club located at 5600 Kitsap Way in Bremerton. It is adjacent to the Abundant Life Foursquare Church.

Rummage sale organizers are looking for donated items for the sale. Items not sold will be donated to Goodwill.

Naval Base Kitsap conducting Reliant Sentinel exercise

Naval Base Kitsap is conducting the security exercise Reliant Sentinel now through March 22 in support of a Department of Defense program.

The purpose of the exercise is “to allow personnel to share and develop security procedures to ensure the safety and security of U.S. military resources,” according to Naval Base Kitsap. Roughly 300 people will participate in Reliant Sentinel.

People residing on or near base may see and hear exercise activity, including helicopters, blank ammunition, noise-producing simulators and smoke. Live ammunition will not be used and Reliant Sentinel operations will not inconvenience local residents.
