NK High, Poulsbo Middle hire new principals

Sawicki takes new role with district

The North Kitsap School District is undergoing some leadership changes as both North Kitsap High School and Poulsbo Middle School have new principals, the district announced June 25.

Megan Sawicki has left her role as NKHS principal and will now be the systems and student support program supervisor for the district. Bob Marshall will take over as interim principal of NKHS. He was previously assistant principal there for five years and before that he was principal at Ketchikan High School, in Alaska.

The vacant PMS principal position has been filled by Michael Cron. He was most recently director of student support services at Ketchikan Gateway Borough School District in Alaska. In that role, he launched a comprehensive mental health services program and an integrated multi-tiered system of supports framework, significantly reducing student suspensions and chronic absenteeism, per the district. His efforts created one of the most-extensive clinical school-based mental health programs in Alaska.

NKSD interim superintendent Rachel Davenport said, “Their extensive educational leadership experience and commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment make them ideal for their respective positions.”
