Update: Open NK school board spots almost set for general election

The results are in after day three of the Kitsap County primary election, and the top two candidates moving on to the general election in November for the three open North Kitsap school board positions are close to being finalized.

The next round of primary results will be posted at 5 p.m. Aug. 9.

In District 5, Stacy Mills is leading with 4,505 votes (43%), followed by Melanie Miller with 3,715 votes (35%) and Barbara Waggoner with 2,316 votes (22%). Waggoner was appointed in 2022.

In District 4, Beverly Godfrey is leading with 3,592 votes (34%), followed by Terri Schumacher with 2,416 votes (23%), Bill Longworth with 1,581 votes (15%), Adam Salazar with 1,536 votes (15%) and Teresa Case with 1,446 votes (14%). Incumbent Nancy Moffatt did not run for re-election.

For District 2, incumbent Mike Desmond is leading with 4,427 votes (42%), followed by Natasha Fecteau Minger with 4,024 votes (38%) and Drew McDonald at 2,115 votes (20%).
