KINGSTON — Tomorrow North Kitsap Fire & Rescue crews will host a community breakfast with all donations supporting the YWCA of Kitsap County. The organization strives to eliminate racism and empower women. Kitsap YWCA operates the ALIVE shelters for victims of domestic violence in North Kitsap and Bremerton.

Breakfast will be from 7 to 10 a.m. at NKF&R headquarters located at 26642 Miller Bay Road NE near Kingston.

Each year NKF&R hosts a breakfast on Sept. 11 to build community relationships and raise money for local causes in remembrance of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks.

“We wanted to do something positive and active in remembering those who were lost,” said Michele LaBoda, spokesperson for NKF&R. “We didn’t want to stop remembering such a significant and awful event.”

The sixth annual continental breakfast is donated by the Suquamish Clearwater Casino’s food and beverage department and NKF&R firefighters.
