SEATTLE — North Kitsap High School junior Kyle Sizemore, 17, who was seriously injured in the March 8 car accident on Hansville Road, died late Monday afternoon.

There was no information about services as of Herald press time. Students were informed of Sizemore’s death Tuesday morning when they arrived at school.

The other North Kitsap High School student seriously injured in the accident, senior Josh Morton, 17, was released from Harborview Medical Center during the weekend. He is expected to be walking at graduation, said his mother Linda Rosario.

The accident on Hansville Road took place shortly after 7 p.m. at the Sunnywoods Lane/Gathering Place Church intersection.

Morton and Sizemore were injured after the Ford Escort they were passengers in pulled out onto Hansville Road and was hit by a Jeep Cherokee. The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies believe alcohol and drugs were involved in the accident, however, no alcohol was found in either Sizemore or Morton’s blood.

There is a bank account set up for both boys at Kitsap Bank to assist the families with medical costs. Donations can be made at any branch.

All mail for both boys can be sent to P.O. 312, Kingston, WA 98346. Funds collected will be equally divided between both families.

Sizemore is the second NKHS student to die in a traffic accident this year. Miles Pendergraft, also a senior, died Feb. 21.
