NKHS principal leaving for same position at Gig Harbor High

Bob Marshall begins his new role July 1

North Kitsap High School principal Bob Marshall will be departing after the school year as he’s accepted the same position at Gig Harbor High School.

Marshall will begin his new role July 1.

“Mr. Marshall has shared that this was a very difficult decision, as he deeply values his time in North Kitsap,” superintendent Rachel Davenport wrote in a statement. “However, as I have always emphasized to our staff, family comes first. This opportunity allows Mr. Marshall to significantly reduce his commute and be closer to home.”

Marshall was named principal of NKHS last July, replacing former principal Megan Sawicki, who was hired as the student support program supervisor for North Kitsap School District. Marshall was previously assistant principal at NKHS for five years, and before that was principal at both Ketchikan High School and Emmonak School in Alaska.

Davenport said the selection process for the new principal at NKHS is ongoing.
