Due to sewer overflows caused by heavy rains last week, the “no contact” advisory for marine waters in Dyes Inlet and Port Washington Narrows has been expanded to include Sinclair Inlet and was extended to Dec. 20.
People are also advised to not eat shellfish from Dyes or Sinclair inlets during this period, according to a statement from the Kitsap Health District.
The department had advised people to not touch the water in the waterways last week after about 265,000 gallons of treated sewage was discharged near Lions Park in Bremerton due to a sewer pipe break on Montgomery Avenue.
