No worries yet about closure of Colman Dock

Port of Kingston officials say they have time to figure out where to dock SoundRunner when the state Department of Transportation begins replacing the aging Colman Dock in 2015.

KINGSTON — Port of Kingston officials say they have time to figure out where to dock SoundRunner when the state Department of Transportation begins replacing the aging Colman Dock in 2015.

King County Ferry District and the Port of Kingston use Colman Dock to provide passenger ferry service to and from Seattle.

“The loss of Colman Dock will be an issue for our ferry service, but luckily we have time to figure another location out,” Port Executive Director Kori Henry said. “We will be working with other ferry service providers to see if there is a partnership that can be formed to share another docking facility as well as searching for another location.”
