Three Kingston High and three North Kitsap High debaters will compete at the State Debate and Student Congress Tournament March 13 and 14, and the State Speech Tournament March 21.
Representing Kingston, Jessica Jorgenson will participate in student congress, Ry Ravenholt will tackle student congress and impromptu speaking, and Mitch Murdock will compete in Lincoln-Douglas debate, extemporaneous speaking and impromptu speaking.
The KHS team has also qualified for 10 slots at the Western Washington National Qualifying Tournament, taking place March 5-9.
North Kitsap High’s James Dexter and Graham Peach will take part in the public forum debates for North. Allana Shores and Nathan Camp will compete in the dramatic interpretation event.
This is the first time in seven years North has sent representatives from its forensics program to state.
