OC to host a tribute to veterans and active duty military May 11

BREMERTON - Leaders from Kitsap's military community will gather at Olympic College to honor veterans and active duty military members. This event celebrates the strong ties to the military in the community and at OC.

BREMERTON – Leaders from Kitsap’s military community will gather at Olympic College to honor veterans and active duty military members. This event celebrates the strong ties to the military in the community and at OC.

Guest speakers include Capt. Thomas Zwolfer, Naval Base Kitsap’s Commanding Officer, and Gilbert W. Williams, Navy College Area Coordinator – Pacific Northwest Region.

The tribute features a presentation of colors by the Bremerton High School Color Guard, an introduction from Olympic College President Dr. David Mitchell and speakers from the College.

The tribute takes place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, in the Bremer Student Center Gymnasium.

Immediately following the program is a free barbecue lunch for active duty military courtesy of the United Services Organization. There is a $5 charge for civilians.
